“SARASWATI”. Watercolour and Ink painting on Imperial size 300gsm/140 lb 100% cotton paper. inspired by the Tibetan Thangka style of Painting.
The “THANGKA” painting style is a Tibetan Buddhist style of painting. The history dates back to the paintings in Ajanta caves and Mogao caves in China. The paintings were done on silk cloth and were preserved rolled and unrolled when displayed. This style was either painted on cloth or embroidered and typically small in size.
“SARASWATI" is the deity representing knowledge and learning.
Saraswati is depicted as the goddess representing purity, knowledge and learning. She is seated on her carrier swan and is holding the Beena (musical instrument) and a book symbolising purity, knowledge and learning.
